Maternity studio sessions are best done between 35-37 weeks and I take a variety of images in different lighting, settings and positions. We’ll do some images standing up, sitting down, laying down and leaning as long as your comfortable. I’m also happy if you would like to add your partner or children in the session. It’s such a special time that i want you to treasure your images for the rest of your life.
At your maternity session we also discuss the newborn session and go through colours, clothes, props and what to expect etc..
What to wear
Colours - Solid colours - pastel, white, black, earth tones etc all look great
Fabrics - look for thin clingy, not necessarily tight fabrics with a little stretch in them.
Pants - jeans (any colour), black pants (yoga pants work well), It doesn’t matter if you’re wearing maternity jeans with a big stretchy band, i will make it work.
Dresses - these can be incredibly sophisticated but choose carefully. Look for dresses that cling to your shape, not the loose comfortable style.
Underwear - I ask that you bring some nude colour (preferably) or white underwear and strapless bra. It’s so your underwear is less visible under the drapes etc.
Tops - Big, white, button down slightly rumpled men’s shirts. Any shirt or cardigan that opens down the front works well.
Boob tubes or camisoles/singlets or anything clingy fitted or stretchy in solid colours work really well.
Jewellery & watches in general avoid them (unless there’s a really good story behind the piece. The big exception is wedding and engagement rings. Classic small and tasteful pieces are fine and are totally appropriate.
Please also be aware i do have a collection of drapes and boob tubes that you are free to use during the session.
